This place is famous for its red trees at the peak. It takes about 1h15m to reach the peak. From the car park we go through a palm oil estate before entering the forest. The forest entrance is not obvious, so better ask some locals or follow others.

Do visit the Gua Balai (main attraction), gua terang bulan (big dark cave with bats) and the cave at the entrance. Comes with the heart of an adventurer, and take lots of nice photos.

Cheap and clean hotel in town centre.

Nice home cook meal.

The best is still Biang Biang Mee, bbq potato is okay and 烩麻什 is a bit too thick.

The Nasi Lemak Ayam Percik is nice, my dad loves it. Lamb Ragout and Indian Chutney Pizza is huge, and has a unique flavour to it. The wild mushroom soup is approved by my wife.

Lunch with mother in law, some hits and misses.

Modern and spacious ambience. Grilled Cheese Sandwich is pretty good.

Murni has changed a lot since back in the days, now they no longer sell roti. Food takes a while to be served. Lamb chop mee udon is okay. Somehow food on every other tables look better.

Nice environment, interesting choices of drinks available.

Uncle Don no longer feels like the affordable and tasty lunch place anymore.

The potato bun so so, drink is okay. Very crowded, most seems to come for the Wantan Noodles.

Coffee is big and nice. Wantan Noodles okay, and fried wanton meaty and crunchy.

Food is alright.

Food still good. Satay, Tosai Rawa and Maggi Goreng.

New coffee shop, worth a try.

Wantan noodle really tasty. CCF with Tau Foo Pok is nice too.

New village areas, with old wooden houses and some eateries.

Famous Bentong Tau Foo Pok for take away (for home cooking). I found them quite nice.

An interesting cafe with a stream and large garden. Service is slow due to lack of manpower and the food is average. The highlight would be the environment, nestled among nature build on top of a stream. There is a mini waterfall, a swing and a garden. Do spend an hour here after meal.

We like the puff here, especially the Kaya Puff.

There are probably two hiking trails in this property, and this is the one which does not lead to a waterfall, but a big open area with plenty of rocks.

The lemang with rendang is okay, probably because we just tasted better ones few weeks ago. Most of the customers go for their mix rice.

The keropok is surprising good, crispy and fluffy at the same time. The sauce slightly sweet, but very nice.

Kopitiam in the new village. A special dish would be curry wild boar. Food is okay.

Coconut shakes with some jelly, perfect for a hot day.

A local community trail, with good view of the town. It could be quite hot at the peak. Somehow there are lots of cockle shells along the way.

Between the two affordable ice-cream shop in Bentong, we like this one slightly more.

It is like night food stalls. Plenty of varieties, the one we tried taste average (because the fritters are not crunchy).
