Breakfast at Chooi Yue Dim Sum Ipoh · 9:00 AM

Maybe one of the best modern dim sum place in Ipoh. Queue is systematic and fast, service as good. Most of the dim sum are delicate and delicious, good quality.

Visit at Mirror Lake · 9:30 AM

A very simple and short nature attraction with cave, lake and lime stone mountain. Mirror Lake 2 (RM 25) is a boat ride through a tunnel to a lake. Mirror lake (RM 4) is a walking tunnel connected to another lake. There is a boat ride service around the lake as well.

Visit at Kek Look Tong · 2:00 PM

A giant cave temple, and a park with pond, and a very small space for boat and bicycle rental. The cave is huge, cooling with many statues for Chinese gods. The park is beautiful too, surrounded by lime stone mountain. Remember to buy fish food at the entrance to feed fishes at the park's pond.

Teatime at Shun Jie fried rice cake · 3:12 PM

The fried fritters here is really good, but the queues are also long wait even on weekday. There is a 3 layer item where you can have fried rice cake + yam + potato, this thing is heavenly amazing (no kidding from a person who don't even like fried rice cake). They will recommend add a bit of salt, it does make it tastier. Even the fried banana fritters are really good. Only available for take away, so we ate in the car while it is fresh.

Teatime at Chang Jiang White Coffee · 4:00 PM

Iced coffee (RM 4.90) is fancy and nice. Toast (RM 6) is good, with 2 thick toast (cut into 4). Half boiled egg is done perfectly. The Dry Wanton Noodle (RM 9.20) is harder than the KL version, and I suspect there are if the 竹星面 type. Despite being a touristy place, service is still good with good coffee and food. Price might be higher, but also comes with quality and good portions.

Dessert at Deen CT Corner Cendol · 5:19 PM

Affordable and nice Cendol with red bean and jagung (RM 4.50). Sit at street corridor only, it is a stall, not a shop.

Dinner at Best Hillview Cafe · 8:00 PM

This is a local food court, not a tourist places. Satay and Mee Mamak is pretty good, recommended.

Supper at Restoran Cowan Street Ayam Tauge & Koitiau · 10:21 PM

This is probably the best bean sprout chicken I have tasted. The chicken is really made to perfection: tender and tasty. The bean sprouts are crunchy, with a nice flavour of soy sauce and pepper. The horfun is nice as well. RM 37 for 2 person, plus 1 drink. Feels like the proprietors are getting old, but still do the best they could. The place closed by 10.30PM.

Breakfast at Ho Kow Hainam Kopitiam · 9:12 AM

There is a 20 minutes queue on Friday 9AM. Just take a number and have a stroll at the Kwai Chai Hong next door. The dried curry chicken (RM 12.90) and Curry Chee Cheong Fun (RM 5.80) is pretty good, Cham Iced (RM 4.30) is average. The Butter Kaya Toast (RM 3.40) is not crispy nor fresh, even though it is toasted. Pretty bad I would say. Turkey Ham and Egg Croissant (RM 8.90) is average as well.

Visit at Kwai Chai Hong · 10:00 AM

A small photo spot. Fairly interesting if you enjoy posing with the props and deco to capture a few photos.

Visit at Petaling Street Market · 11:00 AM

Besides experience haggle shopping at the market, the street itself is fairly charming with many old shops. You can sample some street food, street arts, visit cafes and temples.

Drink at Kim Soya Bean · 11:12 AM

Decent and popular soybean stall. Nothing special, but perfect location especially on a hot sunny day.

Snack at Madam Tang Machi Popo · 11:30 AM

No longer run by the original auntie, but the stall does have her brand name. Taste and texture wise is just average.

Visit at Guan Di Temple Chinatown · 11:49 AM

God of War Temple in Petaling Street (founded in 1887), walk in to pray for blessing or just to soak in the old temple vibe.

Visit at Sri Maha Mariamman Temple · 12:10 PM

A beautiful Indian Temple at Petaling Street founded in 1968. Need to take off your shoes, paid storage available (very reasonable charges). Sarung rental for women to cover up exposed leg is available as well. Don't be shy, everyone is welcome to walk in and visit the temple, with beautiful architecture and colourful statues of god. You are even welcomed to join they prayer if you bumped into the praying ceremony.

Dessert at Niko Neko Matcha 2.0 - Chinatown · 1:10 PM

A minimalist vibe, comfortable enough for matcha and dessert. This is like a premium matcha shop, with plenty of variety of matcha with different origin. I just randomly selected Saemidori K1 (RM 13). I am no expert, but it is thick yet smooth, thus nice. The Yuri / Matcha Marble Roulade (RM 13) has many layers of taste and texture, so I would say it is pretty interesting. Akane / Cashew Houjicha Choux is a letdown because the outer layer is soggy, this doesn't have the feeling of freshness.

Visit at Central Market · 2:00 PM

An old shopping mall with plenty of crafts and gift shop.

Visit at Sin Sze Si Ya Temple · 3:00 PM

I enjoy the vibe of the old temple (founded by Yap Ah Loy in 1864), it has a great ancient charm.

Lunch at Kedai Kopi Lai Foong · 3:20 PM

Famous for beef noodle, which is pretty good. They will give you the large portion by default, so you need ask for small portion. The Fried Kway Teow is okay as well. Seems like the famous lala noodle soup is no longer here.

Visit at River of Life · 4:19 PM

Really love this spot, I think it is one of the most beautiful spot in the city. Gombak River and Klang River merged here, with a great view of Sultan Abdul Samad Mosque. There are nice walkway, places to chill and painting on the nearby building. Feel some peace and serenity at this spot.

Visit at Sultan Abdul Samad Building · 5:00 PM

Probably the most beautiful government building in the country since 1894. A very iconic building, just opposite Dataran Merdeka. There is a nice garden behind the building.

Visit at Kuala Lumpur City Gallery · 6:14 PM

Exhibition gallery with a pretty famous bakery.

Dinner at The Hungry Tapir · 7:15 PM

A pink themed vegetarian bar restaurant. Pink Bombshell Burger (RM 34) has the sauce of a burger, but the beetroot patty is just mashes without the taste and texture of a good patty. The sides of Sweet Potato Fries with Mayo sauce are pretty good. Jungle Laksa (RM 28) has plenty of herbs, but the broth is average. Spicy Tempeh Fingers (RM 12) is pretty good for a tempeh, enriched by dark soy and chili padi sauce. PS: the menu is a pdf on Google Drive

Visit at BookXcess RexKL · 9:13 PM

A bookstore designed like a maze. I would say this is one of the more interesting place to visit in Petaling Street. Rex is an old cinema building, still maintain some of its old vibe.
